Georgia is easily accessible by air, with both direct and connecting services from many European cities. The country has three main international airports: Tbilisi (TBS), Kutaisi (KUT) and Batumi (BUS).
Tbilisi is the main gateway to Georgia and the most convenient airport for trips starting in the capital, Kakheti wine region, Kazbegi, Gudauri, Tusheti or Khevsureti.
Kutaisi is an important low-cost hub with many European connections. It is a convenient starting point for western Georgia, including Svaneti, Imereti, Samegrelo and Batumi, while Tbilisi can also be reached overland.
Batumi Airport is located close to the Black Sea coast and is particularly convenient for visitors heading to Adjara and seaside destinations.
Airline schedules change seasonally, so we recommend checking current connections before booking.
If a direct service does not suit your itinerary, there are numerous one-stop options. Turkish Airlines via Istanbul is one of the common alternatives, with regular onward services to Tbilisi. Other connections may be available through major European and regional hubs depending on your travel dates.
The airport is approximately 17 km from central Tbilisi. You can use Bolt, an official airport taxi, city bus no. 337 or a pre-booked private transfer. By car, the journey normally takes around 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.
Kutaisi Airport has ground transport links to Georgia’s major cities. Georgian Bus and Omnibus Express services are coordinated with many flight arrivals and departures. Taxis, private transfers and local shuttle services are also available.
Batumi Airport is very close to the city. The drive to central Batumi usually takes around 10–15 minutes. Bolt, local taxi services, airport taxis, city bus no. 10 and private transfers are available.
